New Years and Random Happenings

 So to start us off here.... these little trouble makers!!  We were laying on the floor coloring and I apparently dozed off for a minute.  I woke up when I realized it was super quiet and felt something tickling my foot.  Taylor was sitting on the couch looking at me holding her hands out and Wyatt was drawing on my foot with markers.  Never fear!  It was washable marker, though Tays hand did take a whole day to get off.  Oh boy,  never dull around here!

 This boy is confident :)  He loves wearing Tays dress up clothes and her pink cowboy hat.  And apparently also really likes locking himself in the dog kennel.  He thought it was super fun and didn't want to get out.

 

We got to spend New Years in Declo with Codys family and one of the highlights of the week was when we went bowling.  Taylor was beyond excited!!  Which lasted for about 1/3 of the game and then they both completely lost interest and were ready to go :) But we had so much fun!

 Taylor absolutely loves watching John Wayne movies.  She can literally sit through the entire thing, so here they were cozied up on Grandma and Grandpa's bed with their cousin Parker, just watching John Wayne movies :)

                                   Mortgage Payoff Update!

 Ok, so if you recall clear back in October we posted about our love of Dave Ramsey and our intent to be literally 100% debt free.  We pledged to you and to ourselves to have our house all the way paid off within 7 years.  You are supposed to be keeping us motivated :)  We have been working super hard on this, it's been a lot of budgeting, a lot of sacrifice and also a lot of excitement.  We decided to do a year end update,  I seriously think it's going to help us be more accountable if this isn't a hush-hush private thing.   Positive moral support people!!!

So when we decided in October to start throwing every spare penny at the Mortgage, we owed $107,185.  Our loan amount is now down to $98,999.33! In the last 3 months we have paid an extra $8,185.67!!  (curse the way the interest and principal work on a mortgage loan! boo!)  And we have also cut 2 years and 10 months off our Mortgage and saved $4,500 in total interest!  YAY!! This has been hard but oh it is so worth it!!  Keep asking us about it, we are excited and love the extra motivation.  Thanks for your support and encouragement!!
